Remote B.C. community fights wildfire together
PRINCE GEORGE – In 2018, when wildfire threatened B.C.’s Southside, residents had no insurance and no outside help. Now, a documentary about their fight is coming to Vanderhoof.
The Fire In Our Hearts will be shown for a week at the Vanderhoof movie theatre starting October 23. The film has already won awards worldwide.
Josias Tschanz, the film’s director and producer, grew up on the Southside, a remote area across Francois Lake. He says about 2,000 people live there, spread out over an area as large as Jamaica.
