Advance voting surges to new high in Prince George
PRINCE GEORGE — Advance voting continues to draw strong numbers in Prince George, with 1,592 ballots cast Wednesday, the highest advance voting turnout recorded so far.
The latest figure follows a strong opening two days of advance voting last week. On October 7, 1,176 ballots were cast, followed by 1,079 on October 8, for a combined 2,225 votes.
Wednesday’s turnout brings the total through three advance voting days to 3,817 ballots. According to CIVICINFOBC there are 64,314 eligible voters in the city for an overall turnout so far of 5.9 per cent.
The high demand resulted in reports of some lineups Wednesday, with election officials thanking residents for their patience.
