PRINCE GEORGE — Here’s what made the news in Prince George and Northern B.C. for Monday, November 2, 2026.
- A man who fired a gun at police officers during an incident in Prince George in 2025 has been sentenced to eight years in prison.
- Civic politics is often the level of government closest to people’s everyday lives. It is not unusual to run into a mayor or councillor at the grocery store, at a community event or simply walking down the street. But that accessibility can have a darker side, as political leaders face increasing harassment, intimidation and bullying both online and in person.
- Quesnel RCMP have recovered a stolen pickup truck following a serious collision in downtown Quesnel on Sunday afternoon and are reminding residents not to take the law into their own hands when they encounter suspected stolen property.
