UPDATE: Police Believe Alcohol A Factor In Highway 16 Crash

PRINCE GEORGE — Update: Police have released more details into this morning’s single vehicle crash on Highway 16.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says it appears that the vehicle was traveling eastbound at the time of the collision and that alcohol is now believed to be a factor.

The 20-year-old male driver remains in hospital with serious injuries.

Earlier: One person is in hospital with serious injuries following a single-vehicle crash on Highway 16 this morning.

Prince George RCMP Cpl. Craig Douglass says the incident occurred just after 3:00 a.m. on Highway 16 East and Boundary Road.

“Police and other emergency services attended the scene and located a single vehicle that had struck a pole.”

He says emergency crews are still on scene and warns motorists to expect delays.

Witnesses are asked to call police at 250-561-3300.
