KAMLOOPS — Police are investigating if drugs or alcohol may have contributed to a series of crashes in the Pineview area last night.

Kamloops RCMP spokesperson Cpl. Jodi Shelkie says in a news release that officers received numerous reports at roughly 10:00 p.m. last night, Oct. 22, regarding an erratic driver on Highway 5 northbound.

As officers were driving to the location, more reports came in that the vehicle had exited the highway near Copperhead Drive at a high rate of speed and entered the Pineview area.

The vehicle travelled down Foxtail Drive and struck three vehicles before crashing into a home, Shelkie says. The 59-year-old woman from Prince George was arrested on scene for dangerous driving, and was taken to hospital with head injuries sustained from the airbag in her vehicle deploying.
