Solar Panel Road Installed

PRINCE GEORGE – City Hall’s parking lot has become more energy efficient, thanks to a new section of solar panel road that was installed in early June.

The pilot project is part of the City’s continuing efforts to reduce greenhouse gas emissions.

The electricity generated will help power things like the electric vehicle charging stations in the parking lot. 

Without needing to destroy or rebuild the road, the millimetres-thick electrical panels are placed directly onto the pavement. The panels are durable enough to withstand vehicles of various loads, including an 18-wheeler truck in all types of weather.
