Brier Bid Deadline Right Around The Corner
PRINCE GEORGE- The deadline to submit a bid to host the 2020 Tim Hortons Brier is right around the corner, and the city of Prince George is putting on the final touches before sending in its application. The city announced it would put in a bid to host the event earlier this year, and a decision will be made by Curling Canada this October. Tourism PG says if Prince George is chosen to host, the community could bring in 11 to 15 million dollars from the event. Tourism also says more than 100 thousand fans attended the 9-day event in 2017. Hosting the event would be good for the service industry at local restaurants and hotels. Ticket deposits can still be purchased at TicketsNorth to show Curling Canada how committed Prince George is to hosting the tournament.
