Kids Care For PG Humane Society’s Animals
PRINCE GEORGE – Two of the youngest volunteers at the Prince George Humane Society are being praised by staff for their consistent dedication.
15-year-old Nathan Gauthier and 11-year-old Nevaeh Ross were inspired to volunteer during the wildfires last summer. Nathan heard they needed help and couldn’t believe the world he was thrown into.
“It was crazy, the back was all just lined with kennels, one of the schools we took over was just filled with kennels, we had birds, dogs, cats, like hamsters, rabbits, like every kind of animal,” says Nathan.
Almost a year later and Nathan and Nevaeh are still volunteering every week. It’s a surprise to Angela McLaren, Founder of the Prince George Humane Society, who says volunteers typically have a high turn over rate.
