Nechako Branch of Library Closed After Neighboring Fire

Jun 14, 2018 | 9:51 AM

Tuesday’s fire at the Spicy Greens restaurant has left the Nechako branch of the Prince George Public Library closed.

Smoke and damage from the operations of Prince George Fire rescue to put out the fire at the Hart Shopping Centre has left the location closed until further notice.  Ceiling tiles will need to be replaced along with air quality testing and janitorial work,  and staff is currently going through the over 25 thousand items to make sure they aren’t damaged.

In the meantime, staff will be in the parking lot today and tomorrow from 10 am to 2 pm to provide basic service, excluding lending materials. They will provide information, and can assist with placing holds and renewing items. Patrons should look for the library’s blue and purple van.
