New Cannabis Laws Closer

PRINCE GEORGE – With very little fanfare, a number of City bylaws around cannabis went through a public hearing, with only one group coming forward and thanking Council for being so open-minded and progressive when it comes to cannabis sales.

The bylaws around retail cannabis sales will mostly mirror those around the retail sale of liquor.

“I’m not going to put up any roadblocks,” said Councillor Brian Skakun. “I think it’s a win-win situation and I think it’s important to let this new participant of the business community know they are welcome.”

Each application will need to be vetted provincially and will have to come before Council for approval.
