Warm Up PG Back For Another Year
The Warm Up PG event has been taking place for a number of years. Participants donate toques, mittens, and scarves to scatter around downtown Prince George. The idea is that people who need them can take them for free.
Positive Living North Support Services manager, Judy Mitchell, says she’s happy to see people stepping in to help the less fortunate. She adds the homeless population need donations throughout the year, not just at Christmas time. “For our homeless population, a lot of them are in sneakers all year round. Their feet get wet, their feet get cold.” She says socks are always one of the most needed items.
The Warm Up PG event will take place tonight at 7. Participants will meet at the Victoria Street McDonalds. To get involved year round, Mitchell suggests calling a local support service.
