PRINCE GEORGE — It was a special day for those attending the BC Assembly of First Nations gathering.
Today, as part of International Women’s’ Day, the women of the BC Assembly of First Nations launched a declaration of BC Indigenous women. While there is no shortage of women gathered around the table at the provincial meeting, there are fewer Chiefs than Council members.
Today a group of First Nations members introduced a draft declaration, which acknowledges the important roles women play in governance.
