City Parks Reopen As Flood Dangers Lessen

PRINCE GEORGE –  Good news for nature lovers, the City of Prince George is reopening three parks/trails.

Paddlewheel Park, the island in Cottonwood Island Nature Park, and the Heritage River Trail from the Cameron Street Bridge, past the confluence with the Fraser, to Taylor Drive, are all now back open to the public.

These areas were closed last month due to rising waters from the Fraser and Nechako Rivers. Steadily dropping water levels now allow the affected park areas and trails to be reopened.

Earlier this week, the City also rescinded its evacuation alert for Farrell Street residents.
