Gas Leak Near Downtown Library

A gas leak occurred just before noon today. Prince George Fire Rescue responded to a call near the Prince George Public Library. When crews arrived, there was a smell of natural gas in the area. As a precaution, emergency crews evacuated the library. Construction of a new hotel was also halted as crews dealt with finding the source of the ruptured gas line.

No word yet on whether any other buildings have been evacuated.
