RCMP’s Enforcement Campaign Started A Month Earlier

PRINCE GEORGE – Do the right thing and leave your phone alone. The Prince George RCMP Traffic Services Section got an early start on its campaign targeting distracted drivers. The enforcement campaign that began February 1st, saw 46 drivers ticketed using a cell phone while behind the wheel, another 56 tickets issued for  Failing to Wear a Seatbelt and various other violations. $543 is the fine for first-time distracted driving offenders, it climbs to $888 for a second offence, increasing for each subsequent offence. The campaign wraps up at the end of this month.
