‘Weaving Words’ Highlights Indigenous Languages
PRINCE GEORGE – Celebrating indigenous languages and culture this week at UNBC’s ‘ ‘Ut’loo Noye Khunni: Weaving Words’ event. The theme is “reconciliation”. This year’s event has special meaning in light of the provincial budgets’ investment in indigenous languages.
The provincial government announced last month 50 million dollars will be invested to revitalize indigenous languages.
Attending the event is Kamloops Poet Garry Gottfriedson. He feels the government’s investment was a step towards rebuilding a better relationship with non-aboriginals in this country.
