Plaid Friday Is Back

If you’re noticing an inordinate amount of plaid around the downtown lately, you’re not going crazy. more than forty downtown merchants, restaurant and others are gearing up for Plaid Friday.
“We’re calling it an alternative to Black Friday and, really, what we’re trying to do is support local and independent businesses in, actually, the North,” says Colleen Van Mook, Executive Director for Downtown Prince George. “Love Northern BC is behind this whole initiative.”
But it is also the launch of the Christmas shopping season.

Beginning at 5 p.m. Friday, passports will be available at the HUBSPACE, opening the doors to a number of opportunities. Collect five “stamps,” they will be entered into a drawn for two possible price packages:

• FIRST PRIZE – Downtown Staycation Package
* one-night stay in a Specialty Suite and breakfast for two at the Coffee Garden Restaurant at the Coast Inn of the North
* $50 Gift Card for the Celt Family Restaurant
* Two Games of Bowling & Shoe Rental at Black Diamond Lanes
* $100 LoveBucks – to spend at participating downtown businesses

• SECOND PRIZE – A Downtown Shopping Spree
* $50 Gift Card from Northern Hardware & Furniture Co.
* $250 LoveBucks to spend at participating downtown businesses
