Ron Brent Park Open House

PRINCE GEORGE — Right now, Ron Brent Park is an empty field located behind the Gateway Seniors complex, but the City has big plans for it.
The City has set aside more than a million dollars to bring the space up to something more than a “passive park.”
The first phase will add some community gardens, some trails, a couple of horseshoe pits and some benches with landscaping. There are plans to add to that in Phase Two in 2019, with things like a pickleball court that can be converted to an ice surface in the winter.
But, at this point, it is a concept only. The City wants to hear from all potential users of the park with an open house tomorrow from 5 to 8 p.m. in the gym at Ron Brent School.
