Evacuation Alert Rescinded

FORT ST. JAMES – The District of Fort St. James has been advised, as of 12 pm Sunday, that the imminent danger due to the Shovel Lake Fire to life and property for residents has diminished at this time. 

While the Evacuation Alert has been cancelled, conditions in the region continue to be dry. Residents and visitors should be vigilant and aware that the fire hazard remains high to extreme. 

A Campfire ban still remains in place and all campfires are prohibited.

The Local State of Emergency will remain in effect for the District of Fort St.James in the event that future Evacuation Alerts or Orders are needed.
