Community Grants Awarded

It’s the day when a number of service organizations get their grants from the City of Prince George.
The organizations apply under various difference banners; sometimes it is for a beautification project, while others are looking at ways to fund a program for marginalized youth.

“There’s three streams of grants at the City,” explains Sarah Brown, the City’s Coordinator of Social Planning. “There’s the MyPG Community Grant, there’s the Celebrate grants and then there’s the MyPG Enhancement grants. They are beautification grants and are considered to be micro- grants.”

This year, 30 different organzations are receiving a portion of $150,000 in funding under three different types of grants.
