CNC Celebrating Diversity on Campus
The College of New Caledonia kicked off International Education Week this afternoon. It’s a national initiative that celebrates diversity and the contributions international students make on campus. International students make up about 21% of the student population at CNC.
“Our biggest markets right now are India and China,” said International Education Operations Manager, Anne Harris. “We’re seeing an increase in the number of our students coming from South Korea, we have good representation from countries in Africa, Latin America, and Southeast Asia.” There are just under 700 students from 34 different countries enrolled this semester.
More than 10 countries were represented at today’s opening event. Students walked in a fashion show wearing traditional clothing and held an information session where they taught other students about their culture.
CNC is celebrating with free events every day this week from 11:30 until 2.
