Professional Development for Local Artists

PRINCE GEORGE — Professional development is on the way for the city’s artists. 

The Community Arts Council is providing a series of workshops this year called The Business of Art Workshops. Tax training is the first session,  offered by local entrepreneur Matt Hutcheon – who will offer tax tips, including how to file and stay organized. The workshop topics cover a broad range including resources to get published, insurance, business planning, media relations and getting into the marketplace – all skills emerging artists need to make a living or make the jump from hobbyist to professional.

The workshops are open to anyone free of charge, participants are encouraged to register in advance through studio 2880.
