PRINCE GEORGE — Prince George residents can mark the annual Day of Mourning today (April 28) at noon.
A ceremony will take place at the Worker’s Memorial Statue at Patricia Boulevard and Queensway Street.
The Day of Mourning commemorates workers who have been killed or seriously injured as a result of their job.
According to WorkSafeBC, there were 131 work-related deaths in B.C. last year – 66 resulting from occupational disease, primarily related to historical asbestos exposure, and 65 resulting from traumatic injuries.
