Suspected hit-and-run vehicle located

PRINCE GEORGE — The Prince George RCMP has located and seized the vehicle (a 2012 or 2013 Jeep Grand Cherokee) it believes was involved in yesterday’s (May 11) fatal hit-and-run.

“Within a few hours of appealing to the public to locate the vehicle involved in this collision, frontline officers were provided with information that led them to locate and seize a vehicle,” says Cpl. Craig Douglass. “Both a forensic and a mechanical examination will be conducted on the vehicle.”

The fatal crash claimed the life of a 48-year-old man who was using his wheelchair. It also injured a 56-year-old man who was riding his bicycle.

Police discovered the crash scene on Victoria Street between 15th and 17th Avenue just after midnight.
