Cougars have lives extended at the CN Centre
The City of Prince George renewed a rental agreement with the Cougars, keeping them as the number one tenant in the facility. The hockey club will also provide the City $50,000 from advertising proceeds.
The fire ban will be officially lifted Friday at noon allowing category 2 open burning. The decision to lift the ban is attributed to the recent rain and cooler temperatures. The BC Wildfire Service is still asking the public to exercise caution with any outdoor fires.
A 12 week long pilot project–the first of its kind was launched by the CNC in April. The program allows for students suffering from brain injuries to explore careers in trades. The program has been re-constructed to meet the students needs.
A Prince George man is facing five firearms charges after an observant samaritan tipped off police of suspicious activity in his neighbourhood. The suspect was seen stashing bikes and other items out of a pick-up truck into a wooded area of Gillett Street.
Private Abel Thomas Peters of the Cheslatta Carrier Nation landed on Juno Beach along with 155,000 troops 75 years ago. He fought in the Second World War until returning home from injuries and living out the rest of his life in Cheslatta Lake. He passed in August of 2012.
