PRINCE GEORGE— Yoga in the Park takes place at Lheidli T’enneh Memorial Park every Sunday in the summer, with as many as 200 people coming out to reap in the benefits of yoga. It’s in its ninth year.

Yoga is a practice originating from ancient India. It has been adopted into western culture and has become very popular. There are a lot of benefits to practicing yoga, including:

  • calming your mind
  • increasing flexibility
  • increasing strength
  • and creating a sense of community

Being outside with nature in a large group, especially on a rainy day, makes the yoga experience different from being indoors. Participants said the rain was actually calming.
