MIDGET KNIGHTS
No Westerns repeat for provincial champs

It was a weekend of tough breaks for the PG Surg Med Knights. They were out in Strathmore, Alberta, seeking their second straight Western Canadian Championship, but things wouldn’t go Team BC’s way this year. The team got out to a slow start with a 3-1 and 2-1 loss, the latter decided by an umpiring decision the team didn’t agree with. Game 3 was decided in extra innings, where Derian Potskin hit a bases clearing double to keep the teams hopes alive. In their final game of the round robin, they needed to win by four runs, but even with a seven-run seventh inning to earn a 10-9 win, they couldn’t advance to the playoff round. The Knights walked away third place finishers in Western Canada.
