PRINCE GEORGE–The UNBC men’s soccer team beat the UBC Okanagan Heat on Saturday.

The team played an away game in Kelowna, and were trailing behind 1-0 into the second half. The wolves were not looking for a repeat of Friday’s game where they lost 2-1 to the Heat.

However after a couple of subs on Saturday, Prince George Native Alex Nielson came into the match and tied the game 1-1, the goal was the first of Nielson’s university career. “It felt awesome. A great feed from Mikey (Henman). I think I scored on my second touch, that is what the coaches were telling me,” said Nielson postgame. “It feels awesome, and credit to the boys for getting me there.”

The T-wolves held their ground the rest of the second half, leading them to the 2- win over the UBCO-Heat. This win improves the UNBC to 1-1-0 on the year, while the Heat fall to 1-1-0.
