Also in action today are the Cougars. Ahead of their preseason opener today, the team announced a pair of signings. Prince George’s very own Fischer O’Brien and Manitoba’s Ethan McColm have both signed Western Hockey League Standard Player Agreements with the Cats. 16-year-old O’Brien was originally drafted by the Lethbridge Hurricanes and acquired this summer in a trade. He is the brother of former Cougar Brogan O’Brien. Ethan McColm joins him as a 17-year-old traded to the Cougars before the 2018 trade deadline. These two signees join yesterday’s signing of local product Aiden Reeves. The Prince George defenceman was a free agent signing who was added to the Cougars’ 50-man Protected List prior to Training Camp after playing last season in the Okanagan in the BC Major Midget League.
