Warmer Fall predicted by Environment Canada

Sep 8, 2019 | 9:12 AM

Despite a lackluster summer which saw cooler temperatures and plenty of moisture, mother nature could be making it up to Prince George and surrounding area with a warmer than normal fall.

Environment Canada is predicting an above average fall for most of British Columbia.

Meteorologist Doug Lundquist explained that the coastal waters all the way up to Northern Alaska and beyond are much warmer than usual.

In some spots the water is five degrees warmer than average.

As a result, this is going to create warmer than normal temperatures for the province of B.C.

“There is a good chance we are looking at warmer than normal temperatures going into the fall there,” shared Meteorologist Jonathan Bau.

Bau added though as everyone knows, the day to day weather can change. So there is no guarantee that this could happen.

In the more immediate future, Prince George will see plenty of cloud cover over the next few days with a chance of showers until Wednesday where the region will see some sunshine.
