First-ever Vegan Fest coming to Prince George
PRINCE GEORGE–Dear vegans of Prince George, the wait is over as the first ever Vegan Fest will take place this month in conjunction with Fall Fest.
Rob Budde a Poet and Creative Writing Teacher at UNBC, and also a full-time vegan came to the idea of creating a vegan component to festivals downtown after starting a conversation on the Vegans of Prince George Facebook group. The idea gained some traction and so he reached out to Fall Fest who agreed to let him use the Hub Space downtown.
Currently Budde says he and several others are in discussions with Birch and Boar, Cimo, Dana Mandi and several other restaurants to attend the festival.
However, Budde says he doesn’t want the festival to just be restaurants, the space is open to businesses with vegan products they’d like to showcase as well. The event will also supply the vegan-curious with information on how to cut out animal products and even provide little recipes to give the plant-based life-style a shot.
