Daylight Savings coming to an end
PRINCE GEORGE – Just a reminder that Daylight Savings ends at two a.m. Sunday morning. There is some hope this may be the second last time British Columbians will change time. The Province has introduced legislation to have BC stay in Daylight Savings Time.
But it only introduced, not passed. For that, the BC Government wants to wait until Washington, Oregon and California follow suit, being some of BC’s biggest trading partners, according to Attorney General David Eby.
It’s a bogus excuse, according to Lara Beckett, who is the Director for Area C of the Regional District of Fraser Fort George.
“I guess it’s convenient if everybody along the West Coast makes the change at the same time, for business, flights. That kind of thing,” she says. “I don’t really see the point myself. I think we could move ahead with this. It’s no different than dealing with Fort St. John or Cranbrook or Alberta. We could just go on our own way if we need to.”
