PRINCE GEORGE–International Student week is underway at the CNC and for the organizer of the event, it is an event close to home.

Miley Yang is originally from Shanghai and was an International student herself not too long ago. Little did Yang know that after graduation she would be given the opportunity to come back to CNC, this time for a job, as the International Student Engagement Coordinator at the school.

Yang says the importance of having multicultural days was huge for her when she was a student, ” I think it makes me feel like I am actually at home. I’m trying to fit into being a part of this community but at the same time it feels like home,” she told us in an on-camera interview.

Wednesday Multicultural Day took place, followed by a speed networking lunch on Thursday and Indian Culture Day on Friday.

Countries such as Mexico, Africa, Korea, Peru, Costa Rica, India, and China were represented at the event. “I want them (the public) to know more about our culture and have a strong impression,” said CNC International Student Seungyop Shin.

The event showcasing International Foods, artifacts, and traditions is open to the students and the public as well.
