CN Rail workers have hit the bricks

Nov 19, 2019 | 5:02 AM

CANADA– C-N Railway conductors, train personnel and yard workers are walking picket lines today after their company and union failed to reach a contract agreement by the union’s midnight deadline.

The Teamsters Canada Rail Conference has said passenger rail services in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver would not be affected by the walkout by 32-hundred C-N Rail workers – including 176 in Prince George.

Workers are fighting for health and safety issues, including long hours and fatigue — especially in the wake of an announcement last week of coming job cuts.
