Police investigating weekend shooting incident near 5th and Central

PRINCE GEORGE – An early morning shooting over the weekend has the RCMP investigating after one individual ended up in the hospital.

Just before 6:30 a.m. on Saturday, November 23rd, the Prince George RCMP received a report of an adult male with a gunshot wound at a residence on Irwin Street in Prince George.

Officers attended and spoke with the victim, who was transported to the hospital for treatment of non-life threatening injuries as a result of a single gunshot wound. The scene of the shooting was determined to be in the parking lot of a local credit union on the corner of Central Street and 5th Avenue in Prince George.

The identity of the persons involved has yet to be confirmed. Investigators are asking anyone in the area with exterior security camera to contact the police.

Investigators believe this incident was not random and occurred as a result of a disagreement between the victim and a small group of suspects.
