Kelly Stone has been a Yogi for 20 years, an instructor for five and recently she’s begun teaching Therapy Yoga at Yoga Prince George.

Stone says that she wanted to provide a way to not only benefit people’s bodies but their minds as well. “Therapeutic Yoga it’s similar to physiotherapy however, we have longer sessions and we incorporate more aspects of what’s happening with the person’s world,” said Stone in an on-camera interview.

Stone has a background in bodywork and wanted to offer something to the public that would benefit more than just their bodies “we have lots of whiplash people come in or even car accident people and ICBC has now recognized that therapeutic yoga is quite beneficial so if people have been in car accidents they can advocate to their adjuster to have their class cost reimbursed.”

Therapeutic Yoga can offer benefits from common aches and pains, hyper-extension or tight muscles, fascia, nerves, weight gain or loss and eating disorders, arthritis, women’s health, emotional trauma, and other injuries.
