IIO investigate after male driver found rolled over in ditch

FORT ST. JOHN– RCMP have notified the Independent Investigators Office of BC (IIO BC) of an incident that left one man needing hospital attention.

On the morning of Thursday, Nov.28 at around 2 a.m RCMP in Fort St. John attempted to stop a truck with no tail lights. The driver fled but was later located rolled in a ditch with a driver inside.

The male driver was transported to hospital by emergency services. The RCMP is conducting a criminal investigation to determine whether police actions or inactions are linked to the man’s injuries.

No further information will be provided as the investigation has now been taken over by the IIO BC.
