PRINCE GEORGE – While Black Friday was just a few days ago, one downtown business had a fairly dark start to their week.

Butterfly Boutique, located at 555 George Street in Prince George, fell victim to a break-in robbery early Monday morning.

At 2:50 a.m., the RCMP were notified of the incident where an unknown male broke in through the ceiling of the business, crashing through the store’s ceiling, and then immediately heading to the cash register where he stole an undisclosed amount of cash.

Robyn Shergill and Jacquie Clarke, co-owners of the store were left having to clean up the debris following the incident while still trying to accommodate any shoppers that ventured in.

The store owners admit that this isn’t the first time they’ve had to deal with downtown issues impacting their store. Just a few weeks ago, Clarke admitted to getting physical with one individual who she believed was attempting to shoplift a fur coat.

While an official estimate has yet to be provided, Clarke believes when all is said and done, the cost could reach upwards to $25,000.
