PRINCE GEORGE – The motion was made and approved to eliminate the Exam Period for the fall semester at UNBC following three weeks of the Faculty Association being on strike.

A special meeting of UNBC’s Senate got underway on campus Monday afternoon as they looked to address concerns associated with the remaining time in the semester.

The initial final day of the semester was set to be Dec. 3rd but after over three weeks of picketing by the UNBC Faculty, the extension has been approved to have the semester go until December 13th.

The motion also allows flexibility to finalize the courses needing to be completed.

“Faculty will have the flexibility to work with Program Chairs and Deans to amend course syllabi and evaluation methods to the extent necessary to allow completion of courses and course requirements within 2019,” said UNBC on its website.

“Students are advised to reach out to their professors with questions relating to specific courses and requirements.”
