PRINCE GEORGE – It made for a scary wake-up call over the weekend.

At approximately 6:30 a.m. on the morning of Saturday, Dec. 7th, Leonell Caunan, and his family were woken up to the sound of banging on their front door.

From there, Caunan explained that he quickly went to look at the surveillance footage from his front door camera to see an adult male attempting to break into his house, first by attempting with his shoulder, then his foot, then grabbing a nearby snow shovel and proceeding to break through the front door’s window.

According to Caunan, the man ran off once he flashed the front porch lights.

The event has left Leonell and his wife traumatized having never experienced anything like this before at their residence along Alward Street.

The RCMP were then notified shortly after the incident and Leonell said they were quick to respond by sending a patrol to the neighbourhood.

It’s something they’ve never experienced before since moving into the neighbourhood, one that they otherwise have enjoyed living in.

Prince George RCMP is unable to confirm an arrest at this time, however, they did locate an individual matching the description approximately 30 minutes after the initial incident at nearby UHNBC.
