PRINCE GEORGE — Mason Waite was the one to score the Drop the Gloves and Sock It To ‘Em goal for the Prince George Spruce Kings. Unfortunately for the Kings, it came in a losing effort as Coquitlam doubled up PG, 4-2 the final.

Waite’s marker was part of a four-goal first period, a 2-2 tie after 20 minutes. Captain Nolan Welsh getting the other tally for PG. From then on, Express goalie Clay Stevenson was perfect en route to the win. Jett Alexander for the Kings meanwhile, made 29 saves on 33 shots. Former Prince George Cougar Ethan O’Rourke had a pair of assists for Coquitlam.

PG went 1/5 on the powerplay while being outshot 33-22 on the night.

The Kings and Express meeting again Saturday night, puck drop at 7pm.
