PRINCE GEORGE – Brink Forest Products has been dinged with a costly fine following an inspection by WorkSafeBC.
WorkSafeBC inspected Brink’s lumber manufacturing facility where they observed safeguards that had been circumvented on two pieces of equipment.
On a third machine, it was discovered that the safeguard was not adequately constructed to protect workers. As a result, it was determined that Brink failed to ensure its machinery was fitted with adequate safeguards to ensure workers could not access hazardous points of operation.
In the report, WorkSafeBC indicates that this was a repeated violation as well, resulting in a fine of $37,639.56.
