New society blazes trail for the transgender community

PRINCE GEORGE – Some transgender people living in the north feel they do not have the same medical and social supports as others living in the lower mainland.

Trans – ucation is a new society based in Prince George that will connect people with services and with those wanting to learn more about the transgender community.

According to Jaxon Nicol and Shawn Peters, there are around 50 people who are transgender living in Prince George.

Being transgender you need help from the medical profession. Staying connected with those services and the latest information can sometimes be difficult.
