High winds and snowfall leave 117 customers without power

STEWART, BC–Strong winds are to blame for a power outage that left BC Hydro customers without power yesterday.

In a Tweet BC Hydro says that due to yesterday’s (Dec.26) high winds and snow a pole and pole and power lines were damaged, leaving 117 customers without power.

BC Hydro says crews are expected to arrive on-site by 1 p.m. to begin repairs. There is a special weather statement in effect for Stewart, by Environment Canada, with more strong winds and a mix of rain and snow expected tonight and into Saturday.
