PRINCE GEORGE – The bottles will be poppin’ and yes… the traditional New Year’s Eve ball drop will be taking place from New York City’s Times Square

Meanwhile, in Prince George, Operation Red Nose won’t be having any intentions of dropping the ball because, for another year, Operation Red Nose will be ensuring residents get home safe after an evening of celebrating along with drinking.

This year, they will have 25 volunteer teams working to help bring us to 2020 safely.

“However, even with that number of road teams, we will be staying within city limits as we have done in the past and are asking people to be patient,” said Andrea Johnson, Operation Red Nose Prince George spokesperson.

Party-goers will be able to call for a ride by dialling 250-962-7433 between 9 p.m. and 4 a.m. Clients must have a vehicle with valid B.C. license plates.

In previous years, New Year’s Eve has seen Operation Red Nose help with as many as 209 rides. So far after eight service nights in Prince George this year, the campaign has delivered more than 750 rides for local party-goers during the holiday season.

Operation Red Nose is organized by the Rotary Club of Prince George – Nechako in partnership with ICBC and the Prince George RCMP.
