Local mounties surround 21 hundred block of Norwood Street

PRINCE GEORGE–Update: Prince George RCMP say three people have been arrested in relation to a weapons-related investigation.

Just after 5 a.m. this morning, officers converged on a home in the 2100 block of Norwood Street, with assistance from the North District RCMP’s Emergency Response Team.

Cpl. Craig Douglass says at approximately 8 a.m., three people – a 35-year-old man, a 41-year-old man and a 50-year-old female – exited the home and were taken into custody without incident.

He says police are currently attempting to obtain a search warrant and will remain in the area for a portion of the day.

Update: The police incident on Norwood Street this morning is winding down.

Prince George RCMP say more than one person has been arrested in relation to a weapons-related incident.

The Emergency Response Unit is on the scene. We’ll update this story as soon as more information becomes available.

Earlier: A heavy police presence reported in 2100 of Norwood Street early this morning.

RCMP aren’t saying a lot at this point, except that it’s an isolated event that is unfolding.

They’re asking the public to stay away from the area, and those living in the area, to stay inside their homes until the situation is under control.
