PRINCE GEORGE — A new movement a recently popped up to help the animals affected by the devastating wildfires in Australia and a few locals are doing their part to help.

Crafters are putting together various blankets, nets, and pouches to help the seemingly helpless creatures. That kind of support is needed now more than ever, but pouches have been and will likely continue to be, needed for wildlife.

There are currently about a half-dozen people in Prince George helping with the sewing support. More information on the initiative can be found on the Canadian Animal Rescue Craft Guild Facebook page. Anyone in Prince George who has made pouches can drop them off at 4780 Leonard Place.
