Hooker scores in Cougars debut, PG loses in overtime
PRINCE ALBERT — The Prince George Cougars were in another close contest Friday night heading to extra time once again but ultimately fell 2-1 in overtime to the Prince Albert Raiders.
Two new faces made their Cats debut, defenceman Majid Kaddoura and forward Jonny Hooker, with both making an impact. Hooker scored PG’s lone goal while on the powerplay while Kaddoura made his physical presence known taking a checking to the head penalty late in the third period.
The Raiders’ Matthew Culling was the OT hero for PA scoring the game-winner on Taylor Gauthier, who was once again stellar making 38 saves in the losing effort.
PG drops to 10-22-3-4 on the year following the loss. The Cougars continue their five-game eastern road trip Saturday night in Saskatoon.
