Extreme weather shelters at capacity & open 24/7

PRINCE GEORGE – When the temperature started to drop over the weekend, the number of people using homeless shelters went up.

During extremely cold temperatures, the doors at the Active Support Against Poverty shelter are open around the clock.

Last year at this time, the shelter was at over capacity at 54 people.

As of Sunday evening, the shelter was once again at over capacity at 64 people looking for a warm place for the night.
