Cold snap not enough to affect schools
PRINCE GEORGE — It is no secret cars can struggle to get going under the bitterly cold conditions currently affecting Prince George. The same goes for school buses which is why extra work is being done to make sure students can get to and from school safely. You can check for any school bus delays, here.
Schools in Prince George very seldom ever close due to weather. At the point of extreme weather, it is up to the parent to make the decision on sending their kids to school.
Safety, of course, is the top priority. The school district has put out a couple of different reminders such as dressing properly, making other arrangements to get to school, or going back home if the bus is more than 15 minutes past schedule.
If not enough students make it to school during extreme weather events, days can look a little different. That ranges from “In Days”, where students will stay inside during recess and lunch times, to adjusting that day’s agenda for study or catch-up time.
